The Malta Individual Investor Programme is the first citizenship programme in the European Union to be recognised by the European Commission and is designed to attract applicants who can share their expertise, talent and business connections with Malta's shores.
Applicants are subject to a due diligence process which guarantees that only reputable applicants acquire Maltese citizenship. Furthermore, applications may be declined from countries where international sanctions apply. Applications from a particular country can also be excluded on the basis of a Government policy decision. The IIP (Individual Investor Programme) offers great opportunities for its applicants and their families in Malta, including a secure political system, high standard of living and a strong economy.
How to Apply
For an applicant to qualify for Maltese citizenship, the main applicant must be at least 18 years of age, provide proof of being a local resident for a period of 12 months in advance of the issuing of a certificate of naturalisation and meet the following investment requirements:
- The acquisition of real estate with a minimum value of €350,000 to be held for at least 5 years; or
